Computer issues. Need help please!!!!!!?

I assume that you are in fact plugged into a power source and the shutdowns are not a result of insufficient power (but you might check that out).

Do this: Turn off System Restore (right-click My Computer, choose Properties, then System Restore tab) and restart in safe mode (F8 while restarting).

Run full-system scans, spyware and virus. If they still shut down before completing, you probably will need professional help. If not, then you are almost done.

Run a good disk cleaner and, if you have one and know how to use it, a registry cleaner.

Restart your computer.

Turn on System Restore.

Now review programs and remove those that you do not use. (Add/Remove Programs on control panel). If you remove what looks like spyware that was cleaned out by your scans, it might be a good idea to clean the registry again.

Defrag your computer. (Double click My Computer, right-click your local drive?usually C:, then the tools tab, and defragment.

Now make sure your anti-virus and spyware protection are (a) up to date and (b) sufficient for your purposes (check on or into a firewall, too). Research choices for all of these at download.com, a great resource.
