Back in March I visited my friend Ali. She and her husband have done all sorts of improvements to their home, which leaves me in total awe. Despite the fact that my dad is a handyman extraordinaire I?ve never been proficient with tools and repairs. While I was visiting Ali I dropped my earring down a sink drain and lamented to her that I?d lost my favorite earrings. She looked at me and asked why I didn?t just get them out of the drain. Like, duh. I had no idea what a simple task it was! So I was inspired to tackle my first home improvement DIY when I got home?I replaced two light fixtures all by myself. With that small victory, I installed a ceiling fan. And completely hooked at that point, I decided to give my guest bathroom a facelift.
So now it?s been repainted and I replaced all of the cheapo builder fixtures. I still need to do some finishing touches, and I?ll likely paint the trim, but it?s all put back together. When all?s said and done, in addition to the paint, I replaced the towel bar, towel ring, TP holder, light switch plates, light fixture, faucet and drain. I also added a glass shelf and robe hook. The drain was a pain in the butt, and I had to break my promise of doing it all by myself to bring my hubby?s muscle. Hubby also upgraded our shower fan to be quieter and pull more air.?It?s freakin? awesome!
