More than 50,000 people from all over the world have celebrated the art, music and pyro festival Burning man in the Black Rock Desert, also known as 'the playa, in northern Nevada, USA.

The extravaganza, running since 1986, is an opportunity for alternative thinkers and doers to congregate, discuss ideas and party hard.

The attendees of the sold out festival spent a week in the remote desert cut off from much of the outside world to experience art, music and the unique community that develops.
