Chippenham Golf Club homes up to par

A retirement home being built on the same site as the Chippenham Golf Club will soon be ready to welcome new residents.
The Fairways Retirement Village, a ?22m development, will have space for almost 150 people in a selection of one, two and three bedroom apartments and duplexes.
The ?village? will have a care home with a specialism in dementia care for 60 people, which will be connected to assisted-living apartments for a further 75 people.
It will be managed by not-for-profit charity MHA, which has care homes nationwide, including in Bath.
Linda Howes, who works for MHA, said: ?Thanks to its links with local activity groups, churches and more, the complex is expected to be a true community hub.?
There will be many facilities for residents, including a shop, a cafe/restaurant, a beauty salon, a swimming pool, a Jacuzzi, a hair salon, an activity room, a gym and even an indoor bowling facility, and a mini golf course .
Mrs Howes said: ?Outdoor space will be an important aspect with beautiful landscaped gardens and sitting areas.
?There will even be a designated chaplain, ensuring everyone has access to individual spiritual care and support, whatever their beliefs.?
The care home will be finished in early 2013, with apartments and duplexes for sale this autumn.
An information day has also been planned for July 18 at The Angel Hotel in Chippenham.
